Contact MinddistrictWho is this module suitable for?
The module is designed for adults with autism spectrum disorder.
What is the content of the module?
This module explains what autism is by explaining different topics. Central coherence, Theory of Mind and executive functioning are covered, as well as stimulus processing, communication, and the social environment. Clients are asked to think about what they recognise and to give examples from their own life.
In the module they are also asked to think about things that are going well. The most important answers are stored separately in the “My Autism Overview”, so clients and therapists have a summary of both symptoms and strengths. Clients can continue to work with this summary and it gives them something to hold on to in the future or during follow-up treatment.
How was the module developed?
The module was designed by Renske Gommer and Lotte van der Maas, Intervention Developers at Minddistrict, in collaboration with therapists from the autism teams of the Radboudumc and the Therapeutic Center. Experience experts also contributed to the development.
How do you use the module?
You can use the module guided or unguided in individual treatment, but also in (psychoeducation) groups.
