Who is the module for?

This module is meant for adults who struggle with Generalised Anxiety Disorder and want to learn how to deal with worrying thoughts better.

What is the content of 'Coping with anxiety'?

The content of this module is mostly based on metacognitive therapy (CBT) and uses elements from mindfulness and applied relaxation. The module gives attention to type 1 worrying (worrying about events) and type 2 worrying (worrying about worrying). With the help of thought schemes and behavioural experiments, clients challenge their worrying thoughts.

Additionally, the module focuses on avoidance and safety behaviour and doing activities that go against these behaviours. Moreover, the client can try several relaxation and mindfulness exercises that can help with feeling more control over their worries and receives tips from an experience expert. At the end of the module, a relapse prevention plan is triggered.

How do you use the module?

This is a guided module. A therapist can assign the module to clients. For example, a chapter could be filled out between every therapy session.
