What is the GAD-7 questionnaire?

The Generalised Anxiety Disorder 7 (GAD-7) questionnaire is a 7-question screening used in primary care settings to assess the presence and severity of Generalised Anxiety Disorder.

The questions ask about a client's experiences over the last two week period, and asks about things such as feelings of anxiety and restlessness, being unable to control worrying and how afraid the client is that something bad might happen.

How can the GAD-7 be used?

The GAD-7 questionnaire is available on the Minddistrict online platform and in the mobile app, and can be easily assigned by a professional to an individual client. The client can then go through the questions and complete them in their own time.

Once the client has completed the session, the outcome 'score' of the questionnaire is determined automatically and sent to the therapist/professional. If used as part of a routine evaluation, these scores allow for measurement and monitoring of the client’s progress, for an efficient, streamlined process for professionals who require the data from this questionnaire as part of their client’s treatment.

GAD-7 in a mental health treatment setting

For services treating those with anxiety, the GAD-7 questionnaire can be added to the Minddistrict Generalised Anxiety Disorder module to allow a seamless integration for services to collect an individual's results.

The questionnaires are also available to be added to other modules in the Minddistrict catalogue, including any bespoke modules that a service may create themselves using the Minddistrict content management system (CMS).
