Who is it for?
This module is suitable for adults (18 years +) who have low self-esteem and wish to improve it.
What is the module self-esteem about?
The self-esteem module is step 2 IAPT (Improving Access to Psychological Therapies) compliant using low intensity CBT and follows the NICE guidelines. It works well alongside other Minddistrict mental health modules such as ‘Depression’.
The module is formed of 5 sessions (as well as a ‘Welcome’ session) guiding the client step-by-step to build a higher self-esteem and a more positive and realistic self-image. The sessions include psycho-education and example clients. The exercises enable the client to identify their thoughts, acknowledge the facts and form alternative perceptions to act upon. This should help to promote more helpful behaviour that leads the client to feel more positive and confident.
What are the sessions within the module?
- What’s been going on?
- Challenging your negative thoughts
- Challenge your behaviour, build your self-esteem
- How did it all go?
- Let’s build on the positive!
Which diaries work well with this module?
The module can be combined with all generic diaries or with diaries that fit the goal of the client, for example the Thought record diary.
How has this module been developed?
The module has been developed in close co-operation with an expert panel of therapists and patients. The Minddistrict team familiarises itself with cutting-edge research and the most recent evidence-based practices. Relevant literature is taken into account during the development. If you would like to know more about this module, please contact the clinical lead responsible for ehealth within your organisation or practice.
There is a version of this module available especially for IAPT services. In this version the Minimum Data Set is interwoven throughout the module.
